Multiple Owner Town Home Roof Replacement
Challenge
Our sales reps worked with the owners of this townhome, inspecting both attics and roofs simultaneously. The roof was in horrible shape, as it had three layers of shingles on it, poor ventilation, small, poorly executed patch jobs, and one of the owners even had mold growing on her roof decking! The excessive weight of the shingles caused the roof deck to bow, as well as causing multiple leaks. Someone attempted to fix the ventilation previously with off ridge vents that vented the air out the side, but it was the top of the attic that wasn't vented properly, not the bottom.
Solution
Our solution for this unique myriad of problems was to strip the roof down and replace molded and rotted decking, and only put one layer of shingles on the roof. The off ridge vents were closed up, and a ridge vent was added to properly vent the air out of the top of the roof.
