Before Poughquag Roof Replacement
This photo captures the weathered shingles of Louis's roof last replaced in 1984. Time to get to work!
Protecting Your Home
At Klaus Larsen Roofing, the first step in our roof replacement process is to carefully strip away the old shingles. This allows us to start with a clean slate and thoroughly inspect the underlying plywood. By removing the old layers, we can assess the condition of the decking and ensure that everything is in proper shape before installing the new roofing materials.
The Plywood Decking Exposed
At this stage of the process, we carefully inspect the plywood beneath the old shingles. If we find any boards that are damaged or have begun to rot, we replace them to ensure a solid and reliable foundation for the new roofing materials.
Adding Protection to The Decking
The last step of the preparation is to apply the Ice & Water seal, followed by the Roof Underlayment. These layers provide the wooden decking with a crucial shield of protection from the weather, securing it from potential water damage, ice buildup, and leaks. The Ice & Water seal covers the roof's most vulnerable areas, while the Roof Underlayment acts as a secondary barrier, ensuring the entire roofing system is well-protected before the shingles are installed.
